Yes, and you are covered by our 100% money-back guarantee at every step. An artist hand-draws your photo and emails you a proof. Revisions are unlimited. Nothing is cut until you approve, and if you stop before that you get a full refund with no fee.
How many pets fit in one portrait?
It depends on the size: 1 pet at 8 x 10, up to 2 at 12 x 16, up to 3 at 16 x 20 and up to 4 at 18 x 24 inches. More pets need more room for detail. Every size comes framed or unframed, with a walnut or black background.
What if I change my mind?
Before you approve the drawing you can cancel at any point for a full refund, with no fee. Revisions are unlimited and free, so most people refine the drawing rather than cancel. The details are in our full refund policy.

Wonderful 11 year anniversary gift. It was from the night we fell in love and truly knew we were meant to be.
The final product isn’t even our picture. They just sent us something random.
Improve the sawtooth hanger. It pulled out of the frame within the first 24 hours. The frame got damaged. It damaged my wall and it damages my new vinyl floor So I don’t like it.

As far as the art work goes I couldn't be much happier. My only problem was within 20 minutes of me hanging my picture the screws ripped out of the frame and the picture fell. There also was a mount on the frame for it to be hung horizontally or vertically. For as much money as we spend on these I thought they shouldn't have mounts to be hung either way. After all our pictures were made to only be held one way. I will say customer service was quick to send a new frame. We'll see if it's going to be any better still though. Clifford Howard

Can you make a portrait of a pet that has passed, from an old photo?
Yes. Send the clearest photo you have, or a few, and your artist will work from the best one. You see the proof before anything is cut and can ask for changes until it looks like them. You can also email extra photos to support@storyinsteel.com after ordering.
What is a laser cut steel pet portrait, and how is it different from a print?
It is a physical piece of art, not a print. An artist hand draws your pet's photo as solid shapes and open space, and that drawing is laser cut from 16 gauge steel, about 1/16 inch thick, and powder coated silver. Magnets hold the steel just off the walnut or black backing, so it floats and casts real shadows that change with the light. A print is a photo in ink on paper or canvas, flat behind glass. This is your photo redrawn and cut in steel, with real depth and shadow. Want your pet in full color instead? The same drawing also comes printed on aluminum, made in the USA, as the Metal Print Pet Portrait.
Can you combine several photos?
Yes. Turn on "Combine multiple photos" and upload them together, and your artist merges the pets into one portrait.
How does it hang?
One screw is all it takes, and it is in the box. The steel attaches to the frame by itself: magnets on the frame hold it in place, just off the backing, so it floats.
